The Ultimate Backdrop for Your Story
Belfast is a city of incredible contrasts—from the grand, Victorian architecture of the city center to the rugged, hilltop views of the North.
Whether you are planning a black-tie celebration or a relaxed urban elopement, Belfast offers some of the most iconic backdrops on the island. Here are a few of my favorite locations to capture those "once-in-a-lifetime" moments.
1. The Grandeur of Belfast City Hall
There is something timeless about a wedding at Belfast City Hall. The marble staircases and the manicured grounds provide a sense of scale that is hard to beat. I love capturing the "just married" walk down those famous steps—it’s a classic shot that never goes out of style.
2. Urban Charm in the Cathedral Quarter
For couples who want a more modern, "cool" vibe, we head to the Cathedral Quarter. Shooting under the iconic umbrellas at Duke of York or against the vibrant street art gives your wedding gallery an edgy, documentary feel.
3. Fairytale Views at Belfast Castle
High above the city, Belfast Castle offers a completely different atmosphere. The gardens are perfect for romantic portraits with the city and the Lough stretching out behind you. It’s a location that feels grand, historic, and incredibly intimate all at once.
4. Dramatic Architecture at the Titanic Museum
If you want a modern, "epic" look, the Titanic Museum and the surrounding slipways are unbeatable. The sharp angles of the building and the industrial history of the docks provide a dramatic, high-fashion backdrop for wedding portraits that really stand out.
5. The Elegance of Stormont Estate
The mile-long "Prince of Wales" avenue at Stormont is a photographer’s dream. Whether it’s the symmetry of the building or the lush greenery of the estate, it provides a sense of peace and prestige that is perfect for large bridal party photos.
My Approach to Your Belfast Wedding
No matter which iconic location you choose, my goal is to remain a calm, unobtrusive presence. I believe your wedding photos should feel like you. My documentary style means I’m there to capture the real connections, the laughter in the back of the wedding car, the quiet looks during the ceremony, and the energy of the city around you.
As a photographer, I personally take care of every detail, ensuring you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the lens.
Planning a Wedding in Belfast or Beyond?
From the heart of Belfast to the furthest reaches of the Island of Ireland, I travel to document love stories exactly as they happen. My 2027, 2028 and 2029 calendars are now open, and I would love to hear which iconic locations are on your list.
